Fixture Outlook GW30-33

We review the fixture list and rank each team's prospects over the next 4 gameweeks.

As we did a few weeks ago, we’ve looked at all the fixtures from now up to and including GW33 and calculated the expected goals scored for each team. In the table below you’ll see the results and below we’ll talk about which teams to focus on with particular attention on the double gameweek in GW31. As usual, the table is sortable by clicking on any of the column headers

Man City & Liverpool

It will be no surprise to anyone to see Liverpool and Manchester City some way out in front. Although City pip Liverpool at the top in our table there should be considered very little between them, although of late the pendulum appears to have swung in Liverpool’s direction. We’ll take a much closer look at the form of the two teams in a follow-up article but suffice to say there are the two teams best placed.

Everton

The Toffees are in a clear second. They’ve had to endure a tough spell of fixtures just, missing their lead striker Lukaku too, and this shows in their results and fall off from the 4th place in the league. However, the fixtures really do look good for them and we’ve no doubt they’ll be back on everyone’s radars within a few weeks. Astute fantasy managers are already aware of this too. Lukaku, back from injury, second most popular transfer behind only to Aguero in our GW30 Market Movers article yesterday.

Man United &Chelsea

United’s double sees them grab 4th spot in our table. They’re immediate fixtures look testing though, and hard to call; up against Liverpool, City and then another team getting results lately in West Ham. Their more recent stats do show United are picking things up though and are in some decent form at the moment. As for Chelsea, the best thing we can say about them is they are high up in this table without an extra fixture to boost their numbers. They are in great form themselves and have a mixed but decent run of fixtures.

Sunderland, Swansea & Newcastle

We’re starting to get away from the true DGW pedigree with these three clubs but you always need some value in your fantasy squad. All three clubs have mixed fixtures but, importantly, a double gameweek. Adam Johnson of Sunderland should come back into contention, someone like Dyer from Swansea could pop up with a goal or two, and Sissoko, a recent emerging prospect of ours, is well placed in the Newcastle side to return some points at a discount. Bony and Remy should also be on your radar, but only if you set against or priced out of a move for more likely candidates like Sturridge and Lukaku.

Arsenal

Poor Arsenal, out of Europe, Ozil injured, sniped at in the media, and now low down in our rankings despite a double fixture to look forward to. Our table is based on recent fixtures in which Arsenal have not created anywhere near the goal threat they did earlier in the season. Their short term fixture look tough, and whilst we’d never right off a team with their pedigree this does not look like the best time to back them with the form and fixtures of their rivals.
